In this Hari Raya season, many people will hold Hari Raya banquets.

These banquets are held in many places, whether in the office, home, or school.

In many cases, there will be VIP or VVIP guests who are treated to a wide variety of dishes.

But one such banquet, held at a school, caught attention for the wrong reason.

A netizen Mohd Fadli Salleh posted about the incident on Facebook, and it immediately drew the ire of netizens.

Treated Like Dirt

Fadli pointed out that it is not appropriate to sit on the floor to eat even though it has been mopped.

Secondly, the food is too close to the floor and shoes, which are covered in bacteria, viruses, germs, and parasites.

He also took a swipe at the VIPs who ate under a luxurious tent.

The chairs were wrapped beautifully, and the table was nicely decorated.

Fadli said this was a stark contrast to the students eating cross-legged on the floor.

He disagrees with some people who commented that parents are too demanding.

It’s a matter of manners, decency and self-worth.

He added that such a situation is often the case during Ramadan.

The organiser supposedly wants to celebrate orphans and underprivileged families; instead, they celebrate VIPs.

We have to wait for the VIPs to start the ceremony, and the VIPs eat at a fancy table while the orphans line up in long lines to eat.

Netizen Mohd Fadli Salleh on the VIP culture.

Fadli expressed regret that this culture has begun to spread at school functions, and it should stop immediately.

He urged school administrators not to make a banquet for students that only VIPs will enjoy while students are neglected.
